This guide contains instructions for performing VxVM system administration tasks.
VxVM administration functions can be performed through one or more of the following
interfaces:
a set of complex commands
a single automated command (vxassist)
a menu-driven interface (vxdiskadm)
the VERITAS Enterprise Administrator
TM
(graphical user interface)
This guide describes how to use the various VxVM command line interfaces for
administering VxVM. Details on how to use the VERITAS Enterprise Administrator can
be found in the VERITAS Volume Manager (UNIX) Users Guide — VEA. Detailed
descriptions of the VxVM commands and utilities, their options, and details on their use
are located in the VxVM manual pages. Also see “Commands Summary” on page 301 for
a listing of the commonly used commands in VxVM together with references to their
descriptions.
Note Most VxVM commands require superuser or other appropriate privileges.
