pardefault(1M)
Note: The -R option cannot be used with any other options.
-T hyper_thread_flag
Specifies Hyper-Threading setting. The valid values for hyper_thread_flag are:
y enables Hyper-Threading, which allows multiple threads to run concurrently
on each CPU.
n disables Hyper-Threading.
-V vga_flag Specifies whether VGA is enabled or disabled by default. The valid strings for
vga_flag are case-insensitive
enable and disable.
RETURN VALUE
The
pardefault command exits with one of the following values:
0 Successful completion.
1 Error condition occurred.
EXAMPLES
1) Display all the defaults:
pardefault
2) Display OS type HPUX_11iV3 default:
pardefault -t HPUX_11iV3
3) Specify that VGA be disabled by default for all partitions created with HPUX_11iV3 as OS type:
pardefault -t HPUX_11iV3 -V disable
4) Reset all the defaults to the original defaults:
pardefault -R
ERRORS
OA syslog contains additional description of errors encountered during partition operations. Users can
view the OA syslog from the OA using the SHOW SYSLOG OA command.
Error: System unable to accept partition commands
The above error message is printed out under the following circumstances:
• Attempting to run command from an OA other than the active OA in enclosure 1.
• System has been shut down (e.g. with POWEROFF XFABRIC, or ambient overtemp).
• The OA has not finished initializing.
In the above scenarios, please ensure the system and OA are completely up and you are running the com-
mand from the active OA in enclosure 1.
