vparcreate2.1m (2010 09)

v
vparcreate2(1M)
For OA Based Partition Management Systems
vparcreate2(1M)
character. If name is not specified either through the
-p or -P options, a default name
in the format
vParNNNN is given to the vPar.
When invoked from the OS, the command creates the specified vPar in the local nParti-
tion.
When invoked from the OA, the vpar_id should be specified using the format
npar_id
:vpar_id or used along with the
-N option. When specified in the format
npar_id
:vpar_id , npar_id and vpar_id can either be a number or name. The command
creates the specified vPar in the specified nPartition.
-N npar_id Specifies the nPartition to which the virtual partition belongs to either as a number or a
name. This option is mandatory for the command invoked from OA.
Note: The
-N and -Z options are mutually exclusive.
-P vpar_name Specifies a name for the new virtual partition.
Note: The name for the virtual partition should be specified either using
-p name or the
-P option. Attempts to specify the virtual partition name using both
-p name and the
-P options in the same command line will be considered invalid.
-Z parspec_name
Specifies partition specification of the nPartition in which the virtual partition is to be
created. When this option is specified, all other command options are applied to the
current vPar database in the specified partition specification and not to the nPartition
itself.
Note: The
-N and -Z options are mutually exclusive.
