v
vparmodify2(1M)
For OA Based Partition Management Systems
vparmodify2(1M)
-N npar_id Specifies the nPartition to which the virtual partition belongs. npar_id can be specified
either as a number or a name. This option is mandatory for the command invoked from
OA.
-P new_vpname
Specifies a new name for the virtual partition being modified, that is, after all
modifications are successfully applied to vpar_id, it is renamed to new_vpname, assum-
ing no virtual partition with that name already exists in the current virtual partition
database.
A virtual partition name should at least have one of the following non-numeric character
a-z, A-Z
, dash (-), underscore (_), or period (.). No other non-numeric character is
allowed in a virtual partition name. The maximum length of a virtual partition name is
255 characters including the null character.
The virtual partition name may be changed while the virtual partition is running.

Notes:
The first field is always one of the (case-insensitive) strings:
cpu, core, io, ioslot, mem,or
socket.
num, min, and max are all positive integers.
cpu_path or core_path is specified as enclosure#
blade#/cpusocket#/cpucore#
For example:
Short form: 3/6/0/2
Medium form: cpucore-3/6/0/2
Long form: enclosure3/blade6/cpusocket0/cpucore2
socket_id is specified as enclosure#
/blade# /cpusocket#
For example:
Short form: 3/6/0
Medium form: socket-3/6/0
Long form: enclosure3/blade6/cpusocket0
io_path for:
1) Blade resident I/O is specified as enclosure#/blade#/IO_hub#/root_complex#/
root_port#
For example:
Short form: 3/6/0/1/2
Medium form: iorp-3/6/0/1/2
Long form: enclosure3/blade6/iohub0/iorc1/iorp2
2) I/O bay resident I/O is specified as enclosure#
/IO_bay#/IO_hub#/root_complex#/root_port#
For example:
Short form: 7/1/0/1/2
Medium form: iorp-7/1/0/1/2
