Administration facilities
SNAplus2 includes several methods and tools you can use to configure and manage SNAplus2 servers and
clients. For more information about SNAplus2 administration, see Section 3.1, Overview of SNAplus2
Administration.
2.2 Example Configurations
SNAplus2 can be used as a standalone system to support direct communication with a host or another SNA node,
within a LAN to support SNA communications across the LAN, or as a gateway to support communication between
a host and systems in a LAN.
A computer running SNAplus2 configured as a standalone system that communicates directly with a host computer
is shown in Figure 2–1, Standalone SNAplus2 Node That Communicates Directly with a Host.

Several SNAplus2 nodes configured as an APPN network are shown in Figure 2–2, SNAplus2 Nodes in an APPN
Network. SNA is used for peer communication within the LAN as well as over the SDLC link.
