Important notes and recommendations Due to a change in the installation method for HP 4Gb Virtual Connect Fibre Channel firmware version 1.11, HP recommends using this version of the Virtual Connect Support Utility to install the firmware. If the HP 4Gb Virtual Connect Fibre Channel firmware version 1.11 firmware is installed using Virtual Connect Manager or using HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect Support Utility version 1.2.0 or earlier, the HP 4Gb VC-FC Module might present a degraded condition.
General requirements • Microsoft® Windows® XP (Service Pack 1 or 2), Windows Server™ 2003, or Windows Vista® must be installed on the client. • Users must have Administrative or Power User privileges on the client system to install and run the utility. • A valid HP Virtual Connect firmware package must be available to install. The firmware can be downloaded from the HP website (http://www.hp.com). Click Software and Driver Downloads, and then search for "Virtual Connect Firmware.
• If the firmware update client is interrupted or loses network connectivity during the update, reset the affected module to restart the firmware update process.
