Determine the Virtual Connect firmware version
The Virtual Connect Manager GUI can assist in determining the version of firmware installed on the modules in the domain.
Use the Help Menu to select the About HP Virtual Connect Manager link.
Upgrade the Virtual Connect Firmware (if required)
To migrate from Virtual Connect FlexFabric to FlexFabric-20/40 F8, a firmware update is required. The FlexFabric modules
must be running a supported version of VC firmware. Firmware version 4.20 or higher is required in order to use FlexFabric-
20/40 F8 modules. The ‘SHOW CONFIG -includepoolinfo’ VCM CLI command is used to capture a deployable script for
migration purposes. This command is only available in VC firmware versions 4.20 or higher. If the domain is already running
v4.20 or higher, you are not required to upgrade firmware. To capture the settings proceed to Capturing Existing FlexFabric
Domain Configuration below.
For domains running VC firmware lower than v4.20 you are required to update the firmware to version 4.20 or higher. Use
the Virtual Connect Support Utility (VCSU) v1.9.0 or later to update the firmware. The links to VCSU and firmware are
provided below.
