Enhancements
The following enhancements were added to VCSU 1.8.1:
• Additional VCSU options available for HPSUM:
o Provide VCSU firmware update progress as a percentage of completion
o Ability to collect discovery data from VC modules to support correct and complete firmware updates
o Support for additional options through additional environmental variables, for example,
customized activation order, activation delay, health override, reinstall the same version
• Customized VC user role permissions
• Restricted firmware upgrade for VC domains managed by VCEM to ensure compatibility across the
Domain Group
Fixes
The following issues that existed in previous versions of Virtual Connect Support Utility have been resolved in
Virtual Connect Support Utility Version 1.8.1:
• VCSU allows VCM password length up to 40 characters.
• If all the modules in an enclosure within a domain were replaced by a single module without deleting
the domain and an update was performed using VCSU, it caused abnormal VCSU termination.
• If the VCSU update confirmation prompt was left unanswered longer than the OA session timeout before
typing 'Yes', then the update failed due to OA session timeout.
• VCSU update fails intermittently on VC FC modules due to during a SOAP call retry the return value was
not properly set.
• If both primary and backup modules were replaced at the same time without deleting the domain and
an update was performed using VCSU, then the update on bay 1 was skipped.
