Appendix D: Cisco MDS SAN switch NPIV configuration
Enabling NPIV using the GUI
Most Cisco MDS Fibre Channel switches running SAN-OS 3.1 (2a) or later support NPIV.
To enable NPIV on Cisco Fibre Channel switches:
1. From the Cisco Device Manager, click Admin, and then select Feature Control.
2. From the Feature Control screen, click npiv.
3. In the Action column select enable, and then click Apply.
4. Click Close to return to the Device Manager screen.
5. To verify that NPIV is enabled on a specific port, double-click the port you want to check.
