Connectivity checking
1. To check an FC interface status, enter:
Nexus-switch#show interface fc2/2
Or
Nexus-switch#show interface fc 1/31
The FC interface must be up and displaying the link speed.
2. To verify that NPIV is properly detected on a specific port, enter following command for port fc2/2:
Nexus-switch# show flogi database interface fc2/2
The PORT NAME column displays two WWNs. This indicates a successful SAN connection between VC and two,
installed and powered on, blade servers with either an FC driver loaded or with the Emulex BIOS utility running.
The third WWN is the Virtual Connect module WWN.
Note: If NPIV is not detected, a No flogi sessions found is returned.
3. If the VC module is the only device on the FC port, verify that:
- A VC profile is applied to at least one server blade.
- At least one blade server with a profile assigned is powered on.
- At least one blade server with a profile assigned has a CNA/HBA driver loaded.
- You are using the latest BIOS version on your CNA/HBA.
