Scenario 7: Mixed Fabric-Attach and Flat SAN connectivity
with HP Virtual Connect FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port modules
and HP 3PAR Storage Systems
Overview
You can mix the HP Virtual Connect direct-attach Flat SAN connection to Fibre Channel storage with a traditional VC
Fabric-Attach SAN Fabric connected to Fibre Channel switches. This capability in Virtual Connect FlexFabric modules
can be useful for backup and data migration because attaching additional storage systems or backup solutions are
not supported today with the Direct-Attach mode.
This scenario is particularly useful for migrating existing legacy SAN storage systems to 3PAR using the SAN Fabric
connection.
