Note: The 8:1 Oversubscription with 2 FC cables per FlexFabric module is the most common use case.
Note: In order to improve the redundancy, it is recommended to connect the FC cables in a crisscross manner
(i.e. each FlexFabric module is connected to two different controller nodes).
Requirements
This configuration with Virtual Connect FlexFabric requires:
Two VC Direct-Attach SAN fabrics
Two VC Fabric-Attach SAN fabrics with two SAN switches that support NPIV
At least two VC FlexFabric modules
A minimum of two VC fabric uplink ports connected to the 3PAR Controller nodes
A minimum of two VC fabric uplink ports connected to the redundant SAN fabric
For more information about implementing and configuring a 3PAR storage system, contact your HP representative
or see http://www.hp.com/go/3par.
Installation and configuration
VC CLI commands
In addition to the GUI, you can complete many of the configuration settings within VC using a CLI command set. In
order to connect to VC via a CLI, open an SSH connection to the IP address of the active VCM. Once logged in, VC
provides a CLI with help menus. The Virtual Connect CLI guide also provides many useful examples. The following
scenario provides the CLI commands needed to configure each setting of the VC.
