Scenario 8: Adding VC fabric uplink ports with Dynamic
Login Balancing to an existing VC Fabric-Attach SAN fabric
Overview
This scenario provides instructions for adding VC Fabric uplink ports to an existing VC Fabric-Attach SAN fabric using
VC-FC modules, and to manually redistribute the server blade HBA logins.
Benefits
With this configuration, you can add additional VC Fabric uplink ports to an existing VC SAN fabric and redistribute
the server blade HBA logins. You can also add ports to decrease the number of server blades accessing the VC fabric
uplinks and provide increased bandwidth.
Initial configuration
The following figure (Figure 55) shows the use of two uplink ports per VC-FC modules to connect to a redundant SAN
fabric.
