Multi-enclosure stacking configuration
Virtual Connect version 2.10 and higher supports the connection of up to four c7000 enclosures, which can reduce
the number of network connections per rack and also enables a single VC manager to control multiple enclosures.
For more information, see HP Virtual Connect Multi-Enclosure Stacking Reference Guide in the “Related
Documentation“ section at the end of this document.
Multi-enclosure stacking with Fabric-Attach FC Storage
When utilizing Virtual Connect Fabric-Attach FC storage in a VC Multi Enclosure environment, it is important to
remember that:
All Virtual Connect Fibre Channel modules (or each SAN Uplink port of VC FlexFabric modules) must be connected
to the SAN Fabrics.
When Virtual Connect Fibre Channel modules (or FlexFabric modules using SAN connections) are implemented in a
multi-enclosure domain, all enclosures must have identical VC-FC module (or VC FlexFabric module) placement
and cabling. This ensures that the profile mobility is maintained, so that when a profile is moved from one
enclosure to another within the stacked VC Domain, SAN connectivity is preserved.
