Multi-enclosure stacking with Flat SAN Technology
When using HP Virtual Connect for 3PAR with Flat SAN technology in a VC Multi Enclosure environment:
All VC FlexFabric modules must be connected to the 3PAR Storage System(s).
Server profile migration of a SAN-booted server between enclosures is not supported.
With domains managed by Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager, a server profile migration of a SAN-booted server
between enclosures within the same Domain Group or between different Domain Groups is not supported.
To perform in the VC Multi Enclosure environment a server profile migration of a SAN-booted server between
enclosures, the following manual steps should be implemented when utilizing Virtual Connect for 3PAR with Flat
SAN technology:
1. Power off the server.
2. Un-assign the server profile.
3. Change Primary and Secondary Target WWNs in the FC Boot Parameters section of the profile to reflect the
WWNs of the 3PAR storage array ports connected to the destination enclosure. For more information about the
FC Boot parameters, see Server Profile Configuration.
4. Assign profile to the destination location.
5. Power-on the destination server.
