Troubleshooting FCoE issues with FIP Snooping information
FCoE Initialization protocol (FIP) is the control plane protocol that is used in the discovery and initialization of the Fibre
Channel Virtual links between servers and FCFs. During the FIP discovery stage, the FCoE VLAN is exchanged with other
parameters and the maximum FCoE frame size is negotiated. During the initialization phase, the FC Login/Logout and
virtual links are established.
FIP Snooping information under the VC GUI
FIP Snooping information is provided under the Virtual Connect GUI by clicking on an individual VC module. The UI
provides a table with FCoE uplink and downlink ports information that can help to verify which servers have correctly
logged into the FCF.
1. Click the Interconnect Bays link on the VCM left-menu.
2. Click on one of the VC modules.
