Scenario 2: Dual-Hop FCoE using a single FCoE network and
port with Nexus 5xxx Series switch in FCF mode connected to
Cisco MDS SAN switches (using a SAN Port Channel)
In this scenario, two Converged Shared Uplink Sets using a single uplink port and carrying a single FCoE network and
multiple standard Ethernet networks are created between the Virtual Connect modules and the Nexus switches. Each
Nexus switch is connected to a Cisco MDS SAN Fabric through a SAN Port Channel.

Benefits
This configuration offers the simplicity of managing only one redundant DCB network with a single FCoE uplink.
This simple scenario maximizes the use of the VC uplink ports, reduces the total number of FCoE switch ports needed in
the datacenter and saves money.
