Scenario 6: Dual-Hop FCoE using Multi-FCoE networks and
ports with Nexus 5xxx Series switch in NPV mode connected
to Cisco MDS switches (using a SAN Port Channel)
In this scenario, the Nexus switches operate as FCoE Gateways. This particular mode of operation is enabled by using the
Nexus NPV mode.
In this scenario, two Converged Shared Uplink Sets using multiple uplink ports and carrying multiple FCoE networks and
multiple standard Ethernet networks are created between the Virtual Connect modules and the Nexus switches running
in NPV mode. Each NPV Nexus switch is connected to a Cisco MDS SAN Fabric through a trunk SAN Port Channel.
