HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect Support Utility Version 1.3.2 Release Notes
Important notes and recommendations 4
Important notes and recommendations
• Because of a change in the installation method for HP 4Gb Virtual Connect Fibre Channel firmware
version 1.11, HP recommends using this version of the Virtual Connect Support Utility to install the
firmware. If the HP 4Gb Virtual Connect Fibre Channel firmware version 1.11 firmware is installed
with Virtual Connect Manager or with HP BladeSystem c-Class Virtual Connect Support Utility version
1.2.0 or earlier, the HP 4Gb VC-FC Module might present a degraded status. This degraded status
is removed by a reset of the HP 4Gb VC-FC Module through the faceplate reset button or through a
module reset with the Onboard Administrator.
• HP strongly recommends running the healthcheck option on an enclosure before performing any
management tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
o Onboard Administrator firmware upgrade
o Virtual Connect firmware upgrade
o Onboard Administrator planned failover
o Virtual Connect planned failover
• When upgrading Virtual Connect domains with large configurations using the odd-even activation
method for Ethernet modules, Virtual Connect Support Utility might appear to be locked up, and then
fail after a long time. Use the default Ethernet activation method (serial) when upgrading Virtual
Connect domains with large configurations.
