New features
VC-Enet version 2.10 includes the following features:
Support for multi-enclosure Virtual Connect domains
o Stacked enclosure support, which enables up to four c7000 enclosures to be managed within a
single Virtual Connect domain for a total of 64 servers
o Stacked enclosure support in double-dense mode, which enables up to four c7000 enclosures to
be managed within a single Virtual Connect domain for a total of 128 servers
Increased number of Virtual Connect networks (64) per shared uplink set
Support for HP Virtual Connect 8Gb 24-Port Fibre Channel Module
8Gb configuration and operation are supported only by G6 servers.
Multi-enclosure features
VC-Enet 2.10 supports the multi-enclosure feature, which allows up to four enclosures to be managed as
one Virtual Connect domain. Key notes of this feature include:
Up to four c7000 enclosures are supported as part of a single VC domain
c3000 enclosures in a multi-enclosure environment are not supported in 2.10.
HP 1/10Gb Virtual Connect Ethernet Modules cannot be installed in bay 1 or bay 2 of the base
enclosure in a multi-enclosure environment.
Upgrade from a VC 1.3x multi-enclosure beta environment to a 2.10 multi-enclosure environment is
not supported. Create a new domain in VC 2.10 for multi-enclosure configurations.
The maximum number of VC-Enet modules in a multi-enclosure environment is 16.
The maximum number of VC-FC modules in a multi-enclosure environment is 16.
If the firmware is upgraded on the primary VC module after remote enclosures are found but have
not been imported into the domain, perform the find operation again after the upgrade. The list of
remote enclosures is available only after the enclosures are imported into the domain.
