Scenario 8: Dual-Hop FCoE using Multi-FCoE networks and
ports with HP FlexFabric 5900CP switch in NPV mode
connected to Cisco MDS switches
In this scenario, the HP FlexFabric 5900CP switches operate as FCoE Gateways. This particular mode of operation is
enabled by using NPV mode.
In this scenario, two Converged Shared Uplink Sets using multiple uplink ports and carrying multiple FCoE networks and
multiple standard Ethernet networks are created between the Virtual Connect modules and 5900CP switches. Each 5900
switch is connected to a Cisco MDS SAN Fabric through multiple NP ports carrying a single or multiple VSANs. Servers can
access to different VSANs and connect to storage targets through different logical SAN environment.
