Remote replication design with Virtual Connect Flat SAN technology
HP 3PAR Data replication services provide real-time replication and disaster recovery technology that allows the
protection and sharing of data. You can implement the data replication services between HP 3PAR Storage arrays to
distribute data between local and remote arrays or data centers, even if they are geographically dispersed.
HP 3PAR Remote copy can be set up between several Direct-Attached 3PAR storage systems, knowing that the
maximum number of supported arrays is 4 sources to 1 target or 1 source to 2 targets.
Remote replication is delivered using either RCIP (Remote Copy over IP) or RCFC (Remote Copy over Fibre Channel).
HP recommends using RCIP with a Direct-Attach 3PAR configuration because it doesn’t require a SAN Fabric. Use of a
SAN Fabric can result in increased complexity and IT infrastructure costs.
The remote copy over IP port on the HP 3PAR StoreServ 10000 controller node is port E1. (RJ45/1Gb).
