2.03.1a HP X5000 G2 Network Storage System Release Notes (QW919-96053, December 2012)

KB2660075 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2660075)
KB2679255 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2679255)
Fixes
2.03.1a
The previous version of the I/O module firmware was causing false fan alerts to be generated
intermittently. The alerts would indicate that there was a change in the status of the fan. The fix
(updated I/O module firmware) eliminates these false alerts.
The Create a Volume wizard would fail to format the LUN and display a message that the LUN
could not be located on the host if a SAS cable was removed from the disk enclosure. The wizard
will no longer fail if a SAS cable is removed.
HP 1210m controller firmware 1.72 (included with 2.03.1a)
Surface scans are limited to one stripe at a time. This improves host IO performance by reducing
contention with the controller for the SAS bus.
2.03.0a
After installing the service release, the System Manager Firmware tab now lists all applicable
firmware updates for the hardware components.
The automatic refresh function has been removed from the System Manager Firmware tab. This
ensures that status information about updates is reflected accurately.
When a spare drive goes bad, the failed spare drive and any other spares are now correctly
reported in the Manage Spare Drives wizard and the failed spare drive can be removed using
the wizard.
When viewing a list of existing pools in the Create a Volume wizard, the pool size now accounts
for the requested RAID level of the volume.
When entering an email address and SMTP address in the Alerts and Email snap-in, the addresses
are validated and tested to ensure they can be used.
The option to configure the Enclosure Management Unit (EMU) using a local link IP address has
been removed.
When launching the Validate and Create Cluster wizard, the wizard does not fail when checking
prerequisites.
In the Extend a Volume wizard, you can now remove unused drives from the pool.
On the Enclosure Settings dialog box, the Cancel button has been changed to the Close button.
In the Extend a Volume wizard, the following message is now displayed if you attempt to add a
spare drive to the pool and there is an issue with the drive: "One or more drives in the pool are
missing, degraded or failed. Please address the problem before extending the LUN in the pool."
HP 1210m controller firmware 1.66 (included with 2.03.0a)
Spare sync and regenerative rebuilds now occur concurrently to address the rare occurrence of
a rebuild from a spare disk to replacement disk at the same time as a second disk failure, which
previously could result in data loss.
When a rebuild operation skipped a data zone that had no data written to it, the rebuild previously
might not correctly continue at the next data zone. This issue could cause the operations to remain
incomplete, which could put data at risk and cause slow performance.
