2.03.1a HP X5000 G2 Network Storage System Release Notes (QW919-96053, December 2012)

When the I/O modules of the external disk enclosure is flashed by the Firmware Management
Tool, the Port field now correctly displays the port ID for each I/O module. Previously, the same
value displayed in the Port field for both I/O modules.
The Enclosure Manager firmware update would fail if the HP 1210m controller could not detect
the Enclosure Manager IP address.
2.02.0a
The enclosure name is now updated in the System Manager after changes are made on the
Enclosure Settings dialog box. After a change is made in the dialog box, the message “EM needs
to restart” is displayed. Also, the System Management Homepage (SMH) refreshes every five
minutes, so the information is also updated in the SMH.
A warning message (about certificates and keys being replaced) no longer appears when
connecting to the System Management Homepage.
A system password prompt no longer displays for UnknownEnclosure at 0.0.0.0 when
selecting the Generate Enclosure Manager key for second node in the Initial Configuration Tasks
window. This prompt previously displayed if the domain user was logged in without administrative
privileges.
The UnknownEnclosure at 0.0.0.0 message no longer displays if you open the Enclosure
Settings dialog box from the Start menu on the desktop.
Workarounds
Enclosure health LED does not indicate system status from both nodes
The front panel health indicator (LED) may not reflect the health of both storage system nodes. One
node may not indicate any faults (using HP System Management Homepage) while the other node
may have faults. In some cases, the front panel health indicator will remain green, indicating that the
system is functioning without faults when in fact there may be faults.
Workaround: Monitor the system using management agents, or manually by running the HP System
Management Homepage on each node, to determine the system status.
HP Insight Diagnostics is not currently supported
If you attempt to use HP Insight Diagnostics on the X5000 G2 Network Storage System, it will fail with
CISS_StatusHandler errors. HP Insight Diagnostics is not currently supported with the X5000 G2.
Until HP Insight Diagnostics includes support for the X5000 G2, use the System Management Homepage
or System Manager.
Unclear how to ignore particular networks on the Client access point page of the Create
File Server wizard
When multiple non-DHCP networks are detected, each network is displayed on the Client access point
page and you must supply a static IP address for each network. However, you may not wish to enable
client access to the file server on all of the networks. It is not clear how to ignore particular networks.
Workaround: Do not supply a static IP address for any network over which client access is not desired.
Leave the address at the default setting for that network, which is the subnet address. Only networks
for which a valid static IP address has been supplied are used. You can review which networks have
been selected before submitting the configuration changes.
In Enclosure Manager, the DNS address is automatically selected as the default gateway
address
If, when you select Manually configure a static IP address in the Enclosure Manager Settings dialog
box, you leave the default gateway field blank and enter the DNS address, the DNS address is
