6.5 HP StoreAll OS User Guide

5. StoreAll uses the FM user VIF to talk to the keystone authentication service. If an FM user VIF
does not exist for a cluster, create an FM user VIF for that cluster:
ibrix_fm -c <VIF IP address> -d <VIF Device> -n <VIF Netmask> -v
<VIF type (cluster or user)> [-I <Local IP address>]
For example:
ibrix_fm -c 10.1.14.205 -d bond1:1 -n 255.255.255.0 -v user I 10.1.14.5
In this instance:
10.1.14.205 is the IP addresss of the new FM user VIF.
bond1:0 is the VIF device.
255.255.255.0 is the VIF network mask.
bond1 is the base interface/IP address for the VIF.
Designate a file system and provide a name for the Object Store
To increase the performance of read/write operations, HP recommends that the file system you
designate for the Object Store has a default file allocation policy of Round Robin and a host file
allocation policy of Local. For the host file allocation policy, this must be set on each host configured
to use with the Object Store.
To set the default file allocation policy to Round Robin, enter the following command:
ibrix_fs_tune -f <FSNAME> -p ROUNDROBIN
To set the host file allocation policy to Local, enter the following command, including all applicable
hosts:
ibrix_fs_tune -f <FSNAME> -h <HOSTLIST> -p LOCAL
1. Verify that you have completed the steps in “Prerequisite steps for creating an Object Store
(page 130).
2. In the HP StoreAll Management Console, select a file system. Verify that the file system you
have designated for an Object Store contains no other file shares. Ensure that the file system
meets the criteria listed in step 1 of “Prerequisite steps for creating an Object Store” (page 130).
3. Select File Shares and Object StoreObject in the Navigator pane.
4. Click the Add button in the upper-right corner.
5. If you accessed the Add New File Share And Object Store Wizard in a different way than
mentioned in the previous steps, you might be asked to select an Access Protocol. If an access
protocol is not displayed, select Object from the Access Protocol menu.
