Requirements for EQWSI queries
IMPORTANT: EQWSI queries require a Windows Explorer Search Plug-in. For information on
how to create a Windows Explorer Search Plug-in:
From the StoreAll Management Console, see “Creating a Windows Explorer Search Plug-in
(page 314).
From the CLI, see the HP StoreAll OS CLI Reference Guide.
An EQWSI search queries the Express Query database. The results of an EQWSI search are not
a point-in time reflection of the file system metadata. If an EQWSI search occurs before a file event
is updated in the Express Query database, the corresponding search returns the status of the file
metadata in the Express Query database at that instant and not the updated metadata.
An EQWSI query must include the following components:
A supported keyword. See Table 36 (page 317) for a list of supported keywords.
Supporting operator for the keyword.
Valid value for the corresponding keyword.
Format requirements for EQWSI queries
Although the keywords supported by EQWSI are case-sensitive, the values for the search are
case insensitive. EQWSI queries are successful only if the keywords are in lowercase.
EQWSI queries are not sensitive to spaces between the keyword and operator or operator
and value pair. For instance, “size=tiny” and “size = tiny” are both valid EQWSI queries and
they return identical search results. EQWSI does not check for irrelevant characters provided
as part of a query apart from the keywords and values. Make sure that no irrelevant characters
are provided as part of the query.
