C Install and the default Virtual Connect configuration
Before an initial install is performed on a c7000 enclosure, its Virtual Connect modules are in the
factory default configuration. Table 22 lists the default configuration and its implications for the
installer.

In its default mode, the VC picks the fastest available uplink from the X6-X2 connectors and uses
that link exclusively. LACP trunking is not enabled in the default VC configuration.
Because of this default behavior, it is important during the install process to have only a single
cable attached to the VC module to ensure that the active connection is the one the installer intended
to use.
During install, the uplink connection to the customer network must provide a route to the enclosure
management network. If the servers cannot make connections to the enclosure management
interfaces the automated installer software will be unable to properly configure the enclosure
components.
