3. To verify the installation of credentials, list the credentials by entering the following command:

The command displays the credentials for your system. Your output would differ from the
following example and reflect your system configuration:

Discovered device is reported as unknown on CMS
Run the following command on the file serving node to determine whether the Insight Remote
Support services are running:
# service snmpd status
# service hpsmhd status
# service hp-snmp-agents status
If the services are not running, start them:
# service snmpd start
# service hpsmhd start
# service hp-snmp-agents start
Alerts are not reaching the CMS
If nodes are configured, and the system is discovered properly but alerts are not reaching the CMS,
verify that a trapif entry exists in the cma.conf configuration file on the file serving nodes.
SIM Discovery
On SIM discovery, use the option, Discover a Group of Systems, for any device discovery.
snmpd has been restarted
When the StoreAll SNMP agent is configured, do not restart snmpd. If the snmpd restart command
is run on the active node, you will need to take one of the following steps:
If Phone Home was configured, reconfigure it.
If Phone Home was not configured, reconfigure the StoreAll SNMP agent.
Product type may vary
If there are any server nodes that do not have Customer Entered Serial Numbers or Customer
Entered Product Numbers entered for them, HP IRS will discover the Product Type as “HP StoreAll
Solution. If some server nodes (but not all) have Customer Entered Serial Numbers and Customer
Entered Product Numbers entered for them, HP IRS will discover the Product Type as “ProLiant”.
