5.5.4 HP X9000 Series Release Notes (TA768-96054, September 2011)

Upgrades
The upgrade procedure is provided in the administrator guide for your storage system. Contact HP
Support for assistance with the procedure.
IMPORTANT: After upgrading to X9000 5.5.4, ensure that smb signing is configured either for
enabled (smb_signing_enabled=1 and smb_signing_required=1), or for disabled
(smb_signing_enabled=0 and smb_signing_required=0). Mixed combinations of required and enabled
will result in CIFS connection failures in newer Windows clients (Vista, Windows 7, and possibly
others.) Use ibrix_cifsconfig -i to check the settings. The valid settings are:
Host: ib50-81
=============
smb_signing_required : 1
smb_signing_enabled : 1
or:
Host: ib50-81
=============
smb_signing_required : 0
smb_signing_enabled : 0
Other combinations will cause CIFS client connection failures.
