Limitations
Note the following:
For X9000 systems, the HP Insight Remote Support implementation is limited to hardware
events.
Some manual configurations require that the X9320 and X9300 nodes be recognized as a
X9000 solution. They are described under “Configure Entitlements (page 22).

Configuring X9000 systems for Insight Remote Support
To enable X9000 systems for remote support, complete the following steps:
1. Configure SNMP on the file serving nodes.
2. Start or restart Insight Remote Support services.
3. Discover nodes on HP SIM or IRSS.
4. Configure Entitlements.
5. Test the configuration.
The following sections describe each step in detail.
Configure SNMP on the file serving nodes
Run the /sbin/hpsnmpconfig script, which configures SNMP to integrate the CMS running on
the Windows server with the HP System Management Homepage on the file serving node. The
script edits the /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf file, adding entries similar to the following:
# Following entries were added by HP Insight Management Agents at
# <date> <time> UTC <year>
dlmod cmaX /usr/lib64/libcmaX64.so
rwcommunity public 127.0.0.1
rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
rwcommunity public <Manager IP>
rocommunity public <Manager IP>
trapcommunity public
trapsink <Manager IP> public
syscontact
syslocation
# ---------------------- END --------------------
To enter more than one SNMP Manager IP, copy the following lines:
rwcommunity public <Manager IP>
rocommunity public <Manager IP>
trapsink <Manager IP> public
After updating the snmpd.conf file, restart the snmpd service:
# service snmpd restart
