6.0 HP X9320 Network Storage System Administrator Guide (AW542-96009, December 2011)

NOTE: Do not run the command on individual nodes. All nodes must be specified in the
same command and can be specified in any order. Be sure to use node names, not IP
addresses.
To test the rsync mechanism, see “Testing rsync access (page 64).
4. On the active node, edit the /etc/ibrix/stats.conf file to add the
age.retain.files=24h parameter. See “Changing the Statistics tool configuration
(page 61).
5. Create a symbolic link from /var/lib/ibrix/histstats to the /local/statstool/
histstats directory. See “Creating a symbolic link to the statistics reports (histstats) folder”
(page 60).
Upgrading the Statistics tool from X9000 Software 5.6
The statistics history is retained when you upgrade to the X9000 6.0 or later release.
The statstool software is upgraded when X9000 Software is upgraded using the
ibrix_upgrade and auto_ibrixupgrade scripts.
When ibrix_upgrade is used, statstool is installed as the Stats active management
console on all file serving nodes. You will need to migrate statstool to the Stats passive
management console on the nodes that are not hosting the cluster active management console.
On each node hosting the cluster management console in passive mode, run the following
command:
/usr/local/ibrix/stats/bin/stats_passive_migrator
Running the stats_passive_migrator script does not start the processes. To start the
processes, see “Controlling Statistics tool processes (page 64).
When auto_ibrixupgrade is used, statstool sets up the appropriate active/passive
configuration automatically. There is no need to perform migration.
NOTE: If statistics processes were running before the upgrade started, those processes will
automatically restart when the upgrade is complete. If processes were not running before the
upgrade started, you must start them manually after the upgrade completes.
Using the X9000 Management Console Historical Reports GUI
You can use the GUI to view or generate reports for the entire cluster or for a specific file serving
node. To open the GUI, select Historical Reports on the dashboard of the management console
GUI or use the following URL:
http://<USERVIF_IP>:8008/
NOTE: By default, installing the Statistics tool does not start the Statistics tool processes. If you
are prompted to start the processes when you select Historical Reports on the GUI, see “Controlling
Statistics tool processes (page 64) for information about starting the processes.
The statistics home page provides three views, or formats, for listing the reports. Following is the
Simple View, which sorts the reports according to type (hourly, daily, weekly, detail).
