• After installing or restoring an X9720 system, the /etc/machines file is now populated correctly at the end of the configuration process so pdsh commands will work properly. Previously, a pdsh command would fail with the message: /etc/machines : File Not Found". • Tar file-related operations on Linux clients, such as untarring a tar archive file, are now completing within the expected time frames. Previously, these operations were taking too long to complete.
• DL380 G7 NC55x NIC version 4.6.247.5 (9300, 9320) • BL460c G7 LOM version 4.6.247.
new version information to be propagated on each node before the version verification step in the upgrade script. Previously, this issue caused the upgrade to fail. • The StoreAll OS software has been improved to respond to unexpected data better. Previously, when the NIC monitor received unexpected data, a segmentation fault error occurred and triggered a node failover. • Updated the monitoring software to be aware when credentials to the storage array have changed.
Previously, these disk drives were identified as part of a rare data miscompare issue that was identified in firmware stress testing in a lab environment. The recommendation was to update to the minimum supported firmware version. The issue did not occur in a customer environment. • The FMT has been updated to discover all attached disk drives and report their current firmware versions.
• Updated the Red Hat Linux kernel to accommodate system configurations in which vLANs do not have an IP address configured at the bond level. Previously, this situation would cause the node to fail. • Updated the StoreAll OS software to correctly report the bond status for tagged VLAN bonds. Previously, no bond status would be reported if the bond became degraded. • Adjusted the timeout value in the FMT to ensure that discovery of SAS switches does not time out with the error code 0x1A13.
the most current state information is reported. Previously, a stale status could display for a NIC (StatusStale) because the NIC status was being obtained from the NIC state framework on each node. • Updated the "Configuring ports for a firewall" section in the HP StoreAll Storage Administrator Guides to include the ports that must be open when configuring continuous remote replication (ports 9201 and 9202).
3. To restart the HP-SMB service, do one of the following: ◦ To restart the service on all nodes in the cluster, execute the following command: ibrix_server –s –t cifs –c restart ◦ To restart the service on each node individually, execute the following command on each node (where SERVERNAME is the node name): ibrix_server –s –t cifs –c restart [-h SERVERNAME] • Implemented a tuning parameter for the SMB feature OpLocks. By default in version 6.5, the OpLocks feature is disabled.
• Fixed a synchronization issue that could occur on rare occasions during the domain_scan phase of a remote replicaton job (either continuous or run-once). Previously, this issue could cause some files on the target file system to be missing. • High Availability (HA) failover during continuous remote replication is now supported. Previously, HA failover during continuous remote replication was not supported and required that you stop replication until migration to the surviving node had completed.
Contact HP Support for assistance. • If the ibrix_auth command fails after a QR restore of a server in a cluster with a message similar to: ibrix_auth -n IBRQA1.HP.COM -A administrator@ibrqa1.hp.com -P password -h hostnameX Iad error on host hostnameX failed command () status (1) output: (Joining to AD Domain:IBRQA1.HP.COM With Computer DNS Name: hostsnameX.ibrqa1.hp.com ) Verify the contents of the /etc/resolv.conf file is not empty. If it is empty, copy the contents of the /etc/resolv.
• PDF reports do not display on Internet Explorer with Adobe Reader 10.1.2 installed. Reports display properly with earlier versions of Adobe Reader or with other supported browsers. • PDF reports cannot be generated from the GUI when using Windows Internet Explorer 8. To display the PDF, use one of these options: ◦ On the browser, right-click in the white border surrounding the grey area, and select View Source. Locate the src= line in the source.
Query database will be incomplete during this time. HP recommends that you not use the database until the Offline Synchronizer has completed. • If an Express Query-enabled file system has a continuously high work load, it is possible that the freshness of the Express Query data could be affected. To handle this issue, consider the following: ◦ Stop the client work load until all files can be updated in the Express Query database.
]# echo "MIF: workaround 1G RPC limit exceed. (error code 17)" > /ifs1/.archiving/database/serialization/ManualInterventionFailure 3. Restart the Express Query daemons by executing the following command: ibrix_archiving -r Command output: Command succeeded! 4. Wait for the file system to enter the MIF state, which you can verify by executing the ibrix_archiving –l command. When the file system is in the MIF state, the command output will show the following: FS NAME ------ifs1 5.
for system::size for hardlinkA show the larger size, but requests for hardlinkB’s system::size still report the old (smaller) size. To find all hard linked files in a directory tree, enter the following command: find -links +1 -xtype f Express Query treats soft links as “normal” paths. System metadata for the soft link is maintained independently of the system metadata of the target. Custom metadata is also independent.
1. Enter the hpsp_couplet_info -i command to get a list of UUID for attached MSA enclosures. Each enclosure is on a separate line, as shown in the following example of the command and its output: [root@ib25-02s1 security]# hpsp_couplet_info -i 500c0ff1390c0000 2. Install the credentials for a single MSA by running the following four commands once for each MSA that the hpsp_couplet_info command lists in step 1.
General • UTF8 characters are not supported in SSL certificate names. • Case-insensitive file names are not supported when the file name contains non-English UTF8 characters. This affects Linux clients that have case insensitivity set to ON. • When EVA storage is connected to a StoreAll system, be aware that EVA thin-provisioned volumes are not supported in StoreAll. • The current version of VSFTP server used in the StoreAll OS software does not support UNICODE and UTF-8 character sets.
• Node failover does not occur when a node has a complete loss of power (for example, removing power cords or pulling a blade from a chassis). Do not test high availability in this manner. • NFS locks may return an error code (37) after an unlock operation even though the lock was correctly released. If other results are normal, you can ignore this error code.
node where the collection failed. To determine the exact cause of a failure during collection, see the following logs: ◦ /usr/local/ibrix/log/fusionserver.log ◦ /usr/local/ibrix/log/ibrixcollect/ibrixcollect.py.log • Email notifications do not include information about failed attempts to collect the cluster configuration. • In some situations, ibrix_collect successfully collects information after a system crash but fails to report a completed collection.
1. Open /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf.dist. Locate the following line: install nfsd /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install nfsd && { /bin/mount -t nfsd nfsd /proc/fs/nfsd > /dev/null 2>&1 || :; } 2. Change the line to: install nfsd /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install nfsd && { /bin/mount -t nfsd nfsd /proc/fs/nfsd > /dev/null 2>&1 || :; echo 32768 > /proc/fs/nfsd/max_block_size; } • You cannot use the ASCII Installation Wizard to configure VLAN tagging for network interfaces (bonds).

• The HTTP WebDAV share might not let you create a file or folder. It displays the following message: You don’t have permission to do this action. To resolve this issue, remount the WebDAV share by entering the following command: net use * http://192.168.1.1/smita/ In this instance, the HTTP WebDAV share is 192.168.1.1/smita.
LDAP ID mapping • Increasing the values of the LdapMaxWaitTime and LdapMaxEntries parameters can affect the performance of name resolutions for SMB and non-SMB users in large LDAP directory environments. The AD name cache protects against excessive LDAP searches. The default value for these parameters is 10. The range of values is 0 (unlimited) or 1–32767.
• Setting a standby NIC for a user VLAN parent device results in a FAILED status when executing the ibrix_haconfig -l command. To avoid the FAILED status when configuring VLAN user NICs with standby NICs, create a parent device (for example, bond0.vlan) with two VIF devices: bond0.vlan:2 and bond0.vlan:3. In this instance, bond0.vlan:2 is the user NIC IP and bond0.vlan:3 is the standby VIF.
ibrix_localgroups -a -g IbrixSwGroup [-G GROUPID] [-S RID] 3. View the list of groups again, by executing the following command, to verify that IbrixSwGroup is using an unique GID: ibrix_localgroups -L Command output example: Group Name ------------IbrixSwGroup NonOwnerGroup OwnerGroup group1 4. Group ID -------2004 2003 2002 2001 Group RID --------2004 2003 2002 2001 Complete the creation of the Object Store share, using either the GUI or the CLI.
with I/O module firmware version 7.04 and will be fixed with firmware version 7.06 or later in a future StoreAll OS release. • When using the FMT to update a large number of MDS600 or D6000 disk drives connected to a 9730, the following error message displays: Flash failed for device: Enclosure_HDD : operation timed out, but flash for this component is still in progress. Although this error message displays, the update is still in progress; the issue is that the timeout value has been reached.
Segment evacuation The segment evacuator cannot evacuate segments in a READONLY, BROKEN or UNAVAILABLE state. SMB • When you add an ACL to the share root, the Advanced Security Settings window for the newly created folder on the share root displays duplicate ACL entries. This occurs because two attempts are made to set permissions on the newly created folder; once as inheritable permissions and second as exclusive permissions on the folder. The issue does not occur with existing folders.
• SMB and StoreAll Windows clients cannot be used together because of incompatible AD user to UID mapping. You can use either SMB or StoreAll Windows clients, but not both at the same time on the cluster. • The StoreAll SMB server does not support connections from Linux SMB clients. The workaround is to use NFS for Linux. • SMB DCN is supported on Windows File Explorer with the following exception: ◦ The recursive notification flag in the notify request is ignored.
users) specified in the down-level logon name format in the AllowUsers field in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file. The account must be in the following format in lower case: Table 2 Required Syntax for the AllowUsers field Type of User Required syntax for the account (lower case required) Active Directory users: Use the down-level logon name format. allowusers root ibrix \username Local and LDAP users: Use the UNIX user format.
4. 5. Locate the EnablePosixLeaseBacking registry key in the HKEY_THIS_MACHINE\ Services\lwio\Parameters directory and set the value to 0 (EnablePosixLeaseBacking=0).
