6.1.4 HP IBRIX X9000 Storage Release Notes

Documentation changes and additions
File system support for 32-bit and 64-bit mode
The section “Creating a file system on page 12 in the HP IBRIX X9000 Network Storage System File
System User Guide contains out-of-date information about 64-bit mode and 32-bit mode. In the 6.1.1
and later releases, file systems are created in 64-bit mode by default. See “Implementation changes
in the 6.1.1 release” (page 6) for more information.
The section “ibrix_fs in the HP IBRIX X9000 Network Storage System CLI Reference Guide also
contains out-of-date information about 64-bit mode and 32-bit mode.
Online upgrades with auto_online_ibrixupgrade
The auto_online_ibrixupgrade script runs firmware version and health checks before proceeding
with the upgrade. If any of the checks fail, the following message appears:
The cluster is not HA configured
The message then asks you to either continue with an offline upgrade or exit. Be sure that you want
to perform an offline upgrade before continuing.
Optionally, run the auto_online_ibrixupgrade script with options to skip the checks:
Skip health check-sh
Skip firmware version check-sf
Skip both health and firmware version
checks
-sh -sf
Enabling quotas
The section “Enabling quotas on a file system and setting grace periods, ”on page 25 of the HP IBRIX
X9000 Network Storage System File System User Guide, should specify that the file system must be
unmounted when you enable quotas.
ibrixinit command
The syntax for the ibrixinit command is shown incorrectly in the HP IBRIX X9000 Network Storage
System Installation Guide. The correct syntax to install the Fusion Manager, file serving node, and
statstool packages on a file serving node is:
ibrixinit -c clustername -C <CLUSTER_IF> v <VIF_IP> m <VIF_NETMASK> d
<VIF_DEVICE> -w <PORT_NO> -F [-V <USERVIF_IP>] [-D <USERVIF_DEV>] [-N
<USERVIF_NETMASK>]
Dropbox location
The “Installing the latest IBRIX X9000 software release section in the HP IBRIX X9000 Installation
Guide indicates that you can obtain the latest software release from IBRIX X9000 software dropbox,
but it does not include the dropbox location. The dropbox location is not publicly available. You must
contact HP Support to request access to the dropbox.
