Synchronization of containers
Configuring the synchronization of containers
StoreAll lets you set up redundancy so that your containers on an Object Store are synced to a
backup target every five minutes. Container sync happens between StoreAll Clusters. A container
in one cluster will sync with another container in an Object Store configured in another StoreAll
cluster. Create at least two server pairs, one pair per cluster, for redundancy.
IMPORTANT: Object Stores are not included in the StoreAll site failover process. You must set
up synchronization of the containers as described in this section for redundancy.
Keep in mind:

Designate Object Store source and backup targets
Object Store Container Sync requires configuration at the source and the target cluster for replicating
containers. On the source Object Store configuration, you must add all target cluster proxy
FQDN/IPs that will be used for syncing. On the target Object Store configuration, you must add
all of the proxy FQDN/IP’s for each node configured for source Object Store. The source and
backup containers communicate with each other through a common Sync-Key, which you will
create. Once an object is posted to a container, the source cluster containers are synced to their
target cluster containers every five minutes.
IMPORTANT: Intracluster container syncs are not supported. Your backup target container must
be in a different cluster than your source containers.
1. To access the Add Container Sync Config wizard:
a. Select Object under File Shares and Object Store in the Navigator pane.
b. Select a file system in the right pane.
c. In the lower left pane, select Object Store Container Sync under Object.
d. Click Add Container Sync Config.
