6.5 HP StoreAll OS User Guide

The EQWSI feature searches the metadata stored in the Express Query database, which provides
fast access to metadata without scanning the entire file system. EQWSI displays the metadata of
the files and directories meeting your search criteria. Double-click any of the files or directories
listed on the Windows Explorer to view the contents or download the files.
The EQWSI feature requires an EQWSI enabled HTTP share. You can create an EQWSI-enabled
HTTP share or enable EQWSI on a pre-existing HTTP share. If you decide to modify a pre-existing
HTTP share, keep in mind there are a number of requirements, such as share being a standard
HTTP share or an HP StoreAll REST API share in file compatible mode. Read through the steps in
this section before beginning the process of enabling EQWSI on a share or creating an EQWSI
share.
EQWSI provides:
Read-only access to files. EQWSI cannot make any changes to the file metadata, files or file
system attributes.
A specific set of StoreAll pre-defined keywords with their corresponding operators and values.
Search functionality for specific metadata key-values in the Express Query database for the
corresponding file system. It does not search the file content on the StoreAll file system.
File-system specific searches.
