5.6.4 HP StoreAll Storage Release Notes (AW549-96075, June 2013)

A race condition caused the system to fail with the error [exception RIP:
j_verifyThread+448] - corrupted pJournal->q_verify queue.
A lock condition caused corruption in the management console database.
The system failed with the error lwiod segfault in IbfsFreeSetAllocationContext.
Configuring HP Insight Remote Support
Prerequisites
The required components for supporting StoreAll systems are preinstalled on the file serving nodes.
You will need to install HP Insight Remote Support on a separate Windows system. The CMS has two
versions:
Insight Remote Support Standard (IRSS). This version provides basic remote monitoring,
notification/advisories and service dispatch.
Insight Remote Support Advanced (IRSA). This version is integrated with HP Systems Insight
Manager (SIM), which must also be installed. It provides comprehensive remote monitoring,
notification/advisories, dispatch, and proactive service support. IRSA and HP SIM together are
referred to as the CMS.

Limitations
Note the following:
For StoreAll systems, the HP Insight Remote Support implementation is limited to hardware events.
The MDS600 storage device on X9720 systems is not supported for HP Insight Remote Support.
Some manual configurations require that the 9320 and 9300 nodes be recognized as a X9000
solution. They are described under “Configure Entitlements (page 12).
Configuring X9000 systems for Insight Remote Support
To enable StoreAll systems for remote support, complete the following steps:
1. Configure SNMP on the file serving nodes.
2. Start or restart Insight Remote Support services.
3. Discover nodes on HP SIM or IRSS.
