5.6.4 HP StoreAll Storage Release Notes (AW549-96075, June 2013)

5.6.4 release
Enhancements
The intent of the 5.6.4 release was to resolve key issues found in earlier releases.
Fixes
The ibrix_fsck command was showing illegal inode number while reading inode.
The HP-CIFS Srvsvc service no longer fails due to an excessive number of RPC connection
requests.
If an inode has a bad mode (due to an incorrect link count), phase 1 of the ibfsck command
was unable to deallocate the inode and would display the message "Inode xxxxxx has a bad
mode (0755)" every time ibfsck was run. The fix ensures that the link count is changed to 0 so
the inode can be deallocated.
The ibrix_edquota command no longer appears to hang and result in the “FAILED (5)” error
message being displayed.
CIFS service is no longer disrupted due to an HP-SMB server process abort when multiple clients
simultaneously access files/folders under the same share.
When ibfsck is run in corrective mode, the assertion error Assertion: ino >
max_replica_ino failed no longer occurs when a restart is required.
A segment server routine within ibdircheck was changed to only perform the check for which
the routine was originally intended. This reduces performance issues and the possibility of causing
issues on healthy file systems.
The ibfsck command now has the following new functionality to help with troubleshooting issues
with the block group descriptor table:
A verbose mode (ibrix_fsck p 1): The additional comments provided in the verbose
mode describe the state of the primary block group descriptor table for each block group.
Additional robust logging: The ibfsck log now identifies if a block group descriptor table
has become corrupted and it provides guidance on how to fix the issue.
Fixed a potential crash of a file serving node during file lookup, which occurs after the file had
been migrated (rebalancing/tiering). The issue was due to the incorrect phase of lookup not being
reset after the migration.
Fixed a system crash that occurred after a host reboot and the data on that host had not been
initialized yet. This issue occurred if, prior to the reboot, the host had served one or more segments,
but after the reboot, it served no segments and received a request for data on one of those
segments. The fix ensures that data is initialized before it is accessed after a host reboot.
5.6.3 release
Enhancements
The intent of the 5.6.3 release was to resolve key issues found in earlier releases.
Fixes
The error init_special_inode: bogus i_mode(0) was reported when applications created
and deleted files repeatedly, causing issues with the application.
CIFS/SMB clients running Windows XP Service Pack 3 could not save a file with a Danish character
in the filename.
