6.3.2 HP StoreAll OS Release Notes

The file name in the DCN response was changed to be the relative Windows file name (which is
the Windows server behavior) instead of the absolute UNIX file name.
The HP-SMB share management utility called lwnet previously failed when run with the lwnet
share --set-info option. This occurred only when a domain user was used in the command,
and the node had been removed from the domain.
Wrapper scripts were modified to accept spaces in arguments.
The file name length value was corrected in the Notify response packet to prevent the SMB client
from failing during create, change, or delete operations on files or folders.
Access-based enumeration now works for all types of directory enumeration requests for SMB
clients.
The IBFS driver registry entry is now stored in memory to avoid the overhead of reading from the
registry.
The HP-SMB service lwio failed when multiple clients accessed files or folders under a share and
simultaneously an application like PowerShell subscribed to event notifications on a shared folder.
Significantly improved sequential read performance for HP-SMB (up to four times faster compared
to previous releases).
After archiving files, segment evacuation no longer fails and an RO lock error no longer occurs
when accessing files on another node.
Fixed a file handle leak in the Fusion Manager that would occur when any of the following tasks
were running: Validator, Migrator, Snapshot Reclamation, Avscan. The leak was in the Fusion
Manager and not in the specific tool and would happen during task status monitoring.
Improvements were made to prevent the possibility of an unhealthy cluster being allowed to
proceed with an automatic upgrade.
Fixed mount failure after root segment was evacuated due to filesystem incorrectly trying to look
for the new root inode in the old root segment.
Fixed an issue with the directory offset calculation to ensure phase 3 of the ibrix_fsck command
completes successfully. Previously, the error message Err: 0 [line 2861] ib48_121_1:
seg 26, offset in=0 out=0, llnf b corpt= could display in an infinite loop and
phase 3 would not complete. This issue occurred very rarely.
The HP-SMB server now remains connected to the current AD domain if the user gives the wrong
credentials when rejoining the domain.
In the ./auto_online_ibrixupgrade script, tasks related to ibrix_cifsmonitor were
moved to a later point in the upgrade process to prevent these tasks from being run twice and
displaying an error message that the service monitor command cannot be executed.
6.3 release
Enhancements
The intent of the 6.3 release was to resolve key issues found in earlier releases and to introduce the
expanded HTTP-HP StoreAll REST API functionality to include the new object” mode as well as a “File
Compatibility” mode. HTTP-StoreAll REST API shares created in StoreAll 6.2.x are now referred to as
HTTP-StoreAll REST API shares created in file-compatible mode in this release.
The object mode functionality provides concepts similar to OpenStack Object Storage API to support
programmatic access to user-stored files. Users allowed to use this share are represented by an account
on the file system. Users can store an infinite amount of objects in a container created and each object
is assigned object key which is mapped to a relative file system path name.
