6.5 HP StoreAll OS User Guide

EQWSI can only be enabled on shares that meet the following criteria:
HTTP-share required properties.
If multiple HTTP shares are configured, ensure that the HTTP VHOSTs are not configured
with the same IP address.
The share must be a standard HTTP share or HP StoreAll REST API share in file compatible
mode. HTTPS shares and HP StoreAll REST API shares in object mode are not supported.
The EQWSI-enabled HTTP share cannot be configured with a multi-directory level URL.
For example, EQWSI is not supported on HTTP shares with an URL path similar to
/report/sales/.
The Browseable field must be set to true if you want the EQWSI searched results
browseable from the Windows client.
The Anonymous settings for the share must also be set to true. EQWSI is not supported
on HTTP shares that have user access restricted to specific users.
The URL path of the share must not have any of the following characters:
question mark (?), backslash (\), slash (/), asterisk (*), apostrophe (‘), open parenthesis,
( ( ), closing parenthesis ( ) ), open bracket ({), or closing bracket (})
The EQWSI-enabled HTTP share cannot have a URL path set to feds. When creating an
Express Query-enabled HTTP share, do not enter feds in the URL path box; otherwise,
the Express Query WSI search function does not work.
Cluster requirement. The Express Query service must be running in the cluster for EQWSI
queries to be functional.
File system requirement. The file system must have Express Query enabled before you can
enable EQWSI on an HTTP share. If at a later time someone disables Express Query on a file
system that already has EQWSI-enabled HTTP shares, the EQWSI queries will stop working.
The next time you modify an existing EQWSI-enabled share on that file system, you will be
prompted to disable EQWSI for that share.
Virtual host requirement. Only port 80 is recommended to be used in the virtual host which
is used for EQWSI enabled HTTP shares.
Enabling EQWSI on a pre-existing HTTP share
NOTE: Please refer the ibrix_httpshare CLI option in the HP StoreAll OS CLI Reference
Guide for details on adding an EQWSI-enabled HTTP share or modifying an existing HTTP share
to enable EQWSI.
Instead of creating an EQWSI-enabled HTTP share, you can also enable EQWSI on a pre-existing
HTTP share that meets the requirements provided in “Requirements for creating an EQWSI-enabled
HTTP share or enabling EQWSI on a pre-existing HTTP share” (page 309).
To enable EQWSI on a pre-existing HTTP share:
