6.5 HP StoreAll OS User Guide

Defining exclusions
Exclusions specify files that should be skipped during Antivirus scans. Excluding files can improve
performance, as files meeting the exclusion criteria are not scanned. You can exclude files based
on their file extension or size.
By default, when exclusions are set on a particular directory, all of its child directories inherit those
exclusions. You can overwrite those exclusions for a child directory by explicitly setting exclusions
on the child directory or by using the No rule option to stop exclusion inheritance on the child
directory.
IMPORTANT: The exclusion by file extension feature is not supported for files objects stored under
an HTTP StoreAll REST API share created in the object mode. If the share is created under the file
system on which you created the exclusion, the exclusion still does not apply to the file objects
present under that share in object mode. This situation occurs because the HTTP StoreAll REST API
object mode references file objects with hash names.
To configure exclusions:
1. Select an appropriate AV-enabled file system from the list.
2. Click Exclusion on the AV Enable/Disable Filesystem panel.
3. On the Exclusion dialog box, specify the directory path where the exclusion is to be applied.
4. Click Display Rule to set the Rule information.
