Changing the JDK
After starting operations, to change the JDK used by P9000 Command View AE Suite products,
execute the hcmdschgjdk command.
P9000 Command View AE Suite products can be used with the following JDK versions:
JDK 5 Update 03 (1.5.0_03) or later bundled with P9000 Command View AE Suite
Oracle JDK 5 (1.5.0)
Oracle JDK 6 (1.6.0)
Oracle JDK 7 (1.7.0)
To change the JDK:
1. Stop the services of P9000 Command View AE Suite products.
In Windows:
Select Start > All Programs > HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite > Manage
Services > Stop.
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Common-Component/bin/hcmdssrv -stop
2. Execute the command below to change the JDK.
In the window that opens, select the JDK you want to use.
In Windows:
installation-folder-for-Common-Component\bin\hcmdschgjdk
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Common-Component/bin/hcmdschgjdk
3. Start the services of P9000 Command View AE Suite products.
In Windows:
Select Start > All Programs > HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite > Manage
Services > Start.
In Linux:
installation-directory-for-Common-Component/bin/hcmdssrv -start
4. If you are using SSL/TLS for the communication routes below, re-import the server certificate into
the truststore (jssecacerts).
When the server certificate is re-imported, its storage location switches to a location under the
JDK being used.
Between the Device Manager server and the Replication Manager server
Use the hcmdskeytool utility (for Windows) or the keytool utility (for Linux) to re-import
the server certificate (the server certificate of the certificate authority or the Self-Signed Certi-
ficate) of the Device Manager server.
5. If you change to Oracle JDK in an environment that has Windows Firewall enabled, you must
manually register the java.exe file of Oracle JDK as a firewall exception.
