To manage a storage system by SCVMM 2012:
On the window for registering the SMI-S provider of SCVMM 2012, specify the following items:
Protocol
Specify SMI-S CIMXML.
IP address for the SMI-S provider
Specify the IP address for the Device Manager server.

Notes on using the storage administration functionality of SCVMM 2012
When using SCVMM 2012 for operating XP24000/XP20000 or XP12000/XP10000/SVS200,
note the following points:
Up to two storage pools can be managed from SCVMM 2012.
Before executing a job, check that all other jobs have finished.
Specify only the logical units created by SCVMM 2012 for a job.
When creating a logical unit in a storage pool of XP24000/XP20000, select Create thin storage
logical unit with capacity committed on demand in the Create Logical Unit dialog box.
If a job for adding a logical unit resulted in a timeout error, follow the procedure shown below:
1. Restart the hosts that make up the cluster.
2. Check that the volume is recognized on the hosts that make up the cluster.
3. From Windows Server Failover Clustering, register the disk to the cluster.
4. Rescan the SMI-S provider.
5. Refresh the hosts that make up the cluster.
6. Refresh the cluster.
When changing the configuration from the Device Manager server or the storage system, follow
the procedure shown below:
When changing the configuration from the Device Manager server:
Rescan the SMI-S provider.
When changing the configuration from the storage system:
Refresh the storage system from the Device Manager server, and then rescan the SMI-S provider.
When a path is set, after taking the above procedure, also follow the procedure shown below:
1. Restart and refresh the hosts that make up the cluster.
2. Refresh the cluster.
