8 Setting up a cluster environment
By clustering two P9000 Command View AE Suite product management servers together in an
active-standby configuration, the availability of P9000 Command View AE Suite products can be
improved.
This chapter explains how to set up a cluster environment for P9000 Command View AE Suite products.
Verifying the management server environment
The setup procedure differs depending on the management server environment. For details, see the
appropriate section in the following table, and perform setup as indicated.

Device Manager needs to have been installed as a new installation in advance.
Before setting up a cluster environment, re-create and back up the database. Check that the following
unused capacity is available on the management servers:
Unused capacity required at the location where the database is re-created:
The required unused capacity is equal to the disk space used by the Common Component database
combined with the disk space used by the databases for all P9000 Command View AE Suite
products (including the Device Manager server database) installed on a Device Manager server.
Unused capacity required to back up the databases:
(total-size-of-all-P9000-Command-View-AE-Suite-product-databases-to-be-
backed-up + 1 GB) x 2
