Re-register the vMA that manages the virtualization servers in Device Manager (but you do not
need to delete it).
Note that, if you change the hardware configuration of a virtualization server, after the configur-
ation information of the monitored virtualization server is applied to vMA and VMware vCenter
Server, you need to update (refresh) the Device Manager information. If the configuration inform-
ation of virtualization servers is set to be automatically applied to vMA and VMware vCenter
Server, a time lag might occur from the time the configuration is changed until the information is
applied to vMA and VMware vCenter Server.
For details on how to apply the configuration information of virtualization servers to vMA and
VMware vCenter Server and how to adjust the interval for applying information, see the VMware
documentation.
When Logical Domains is used, if you export the physical disk in the service domain as a virtual
disk in the guest domain, specify a full disk. If you specify a disk slice, the information about the
virtual disk cannot be acquired correctly.
Prerequisites for mainframe hosts
From Device Manager or Tiered Storage Manager linked with P9000 mainframe agent, you can
perform the following operations for mainframe volumes:
Checking the usage of mainframe volumes and the logical DKC serial numbers of storage systems
(from Device Manager)
Migrating and shredding mainframe volumes (from Tiered Storage Manager)
Operation workflow of managing a mainframe host
To manage mainframe host volumes by linking P9000 mainframe agent, you must specify environment
settings for both P9000 mainframe agent and Device Manager.
