About this Guide
This document describes and provides instructions for performing Hitachi Extended Remote Copy
(XRC) for Mainframe operations on the HP storage systems.
Unless otherwise specified, the term storage system in this guide refers to the following disk arrays:
• HP StorageWorks XP12000 Disk Array
• HP StorageWorks XP10000 Disk Array
Intended Audience
This document assumes that the user:
• Has a background in data processing and understands direct-access storage device (DASD)
systems and their basic functions.
• Is familiar with the HP storage system.
• Has read and understands both the HP StorageWorks XP12000 Disk Array Owner's Guide or
HP StorageWorks XP10000 Disk Array Owner's Guide and the HP StorageWorks XP Remote
Web Console user guide: HP XP12000 Disk Array, HP XP10000 Disk Array, HP 200 Storage
Virtualization System.
• Is familiar with the operating system and Web browser software on the system hosting the storage
system XP Remote Control software.
