HP P9000 Replication Manager Software Update 7.2.0-03 Release Notes (TB584-96050, March 2012)

Important considerations
Replacing secondary volumes of Continuous Access Synchronous or Continuous Access
Journal in a 3DC multi-target configuration (open systems)
To replace all the secondary volumes included in a Continuous Access Synchronous or P9000/XP
Continuous Access Journal copy pair, launch the Pair Configuration Wizard more than once to replace
the secondary volumes according to the following procedure.
1. Generate and execute the replacement tasks to replace half of the secondary volumes of the
Continuous Access Synchronous or P9000/XP Continuous Access Journal copy pair.
2. Generate and execute the replacement tasks for the other half of the secondary volumes not
replaced in step 1.
If you use Pair Configuration Wizard only once to generate and execute the replacement tasks for all
of the secondary volumes in the Continuous Access Synchronous or P9000/XP Continuous Access
Journal copy pair, task execution might not be successful.
Schedule-execution tasks starting during the skipped hour for daylight saving time
Do not specify a time that causes a schedule-execution task to be skipped because of the start of
daylight saving time.
1
This applies to the schedule settings in the Change Copy Pair Status wizard or
the execution time in the Edit Task dialog box.
Specifying a task to execute during the time skipped for daylight saving time might cause the task to
not execute as scheduled.
A schedule-execution task is used to specify the execution interval for a task that changes copy pair
statuses.
For example, if daylight saving time starts at 2:00 a.m. on March 11, do not specify the first time for
a task to execute between 2:00 a.m. and 2:59 a.m. on March 11.
1
The hour between 2:00 a.m. and 2:59 a.m. is skipped when daylight saving time starts. Do not set
a start time for a task that is within the skipped hour.
Executing scheduled tasks
When a task scheduled for execution meets all of the following conditions, the next scheduled execution
of the task is automatically adjusted to start later.
Conditions
The task is a scheduled task that has already been executed at least once.
The previous time when the task was executed and the next time the task should be executed all
meet the following conditions:
hh2 > hh1
MM > mm2
hh1:mm1 The previous time when the task was executed (start time)
hh2:mm2 The previous time when the task was executed (end time)
HH:MM The next time the task should be executed (start time)
