Version: 7.1.0-00 Description This package is a new release of HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software. For details, see “Enhancements.” For previous issues resolved in this release, see “Fixes.” Update recommendation: Routine Supersedes: 7.0.
Internal/external P9500 can now display tier capacity for each logical group The GUI design for the following functions is now improved: Create pool Expand pool Search JDK version 6 provided by Oracle Corporation is now supported. The Device Manager server, GUI, and CLI now support the following Windows operating system versions: Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack1 Windows 7 Service Pack1 The Device Manager CLI now supports AIX 7.1.
Fixes If the number of characters of a storage system name or a LDEV label was 33 or more, the task registration operation in the unallocate volumes dialog box or the delete volumes failed and the KAIC15000-E appeared. If the Search button was clicked before values were displayed in the Search window dropdown list, the KAIC16009-E error occurred. Even if a storage system was refreshed after a copy pair was deleted, the copy pair information remained.
The configuration with CIM/WBEM functions might have failed if Device Manager managed XP1024/XP128 or XP12000/XP10000. The results displayed in a browser window might be reflected in the navigation area and the application area of other browser windows. From the CLI, if a logical group path in the logicalpath parameter was specified and the GetLogicalGroup command was executed, the KAIC07026-E error occurred.
(c)Perform VMware Raw Device Mapping, and then make sure that the command device in (a) is recognized by the virtual machine. [Replication Manager Application Agent]: In Replication Manager Application Agent earlier than 6.4.0-00: When using VMware 4.0 or later, configure the backup server with a server on a non-virtual machine. In Replication Manager Application Agent 6.4.0-00 or later: Database servers that are configured on a virtual machine are supported if VMware 4.0 or later is used.
When an overwrite installation of Host Data Collector is performed, the system prompts you to specify a new installation path and port number. Specify the same installation path and port number used in the previous installation. Upgrading Host Data Collector Upgrading resets the port number used by Host Data Collector to the default (23051).
Registering hosts using Host Data Collector If the account used for registering of Windows hosts was a domain account, the Windows UPN format (user-name@domain-name) could not be used. Use the domain-name\user-name format. The length of the password for the account used for registering hosts could not be 129 or more characters. If you are registering a Windows host that belongs to a Windows domain, use Windows Service Management protocol for registering hosts.
Also, when the target host log gathering tool (TLC) is executed, the previous file and -<1 to 6 digits number>.rst file (Size: about 250 + 50*disk number that consists pool byte) might be created on the directory where the TLC command is executed. Delete the file from the directory after registering hosts, updating host information, or running TLC. Registering Solaris hosts with Host Data Collector metastat_pXXXX.
The property setting for linking to Host Data Collector When you install Command View Advanced Edition Suite on a computer containing only Host Data Collector, the properties must be set for the connection between Device Manager and Host Data Collector. For details about setting the properties, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software Configuration Reference Guide.
(1) Export the database Execute the hcmdsdbtrans command as follows to export the database: installation-folder-for-Common-Component\bin\hcmdsdbtrans /export /workpath work-folder /file archive-file /auto (2) Remove Command View Advanced Edition Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. In the Add or Remove Programs window, select Command View Advanced Edition. Click Remove.
○ Editing a resource group ○ Adding resources to a resource group ○ Removing resources from a resource group To add or remove resources, specify no more than 16,000 resources for each resource type. When multiple resource groups are simultaneously deleted, communication with the Device Manager server might fail. Make sure that no more than 16,000 resources for each resource type are assigned to each resource group to be deleted.
Upgrading Command View Advanced Edition to 7.1.0, or importing a Command View Advanced Edition 7.0.0 database: When either of the following conditions is met, the KAIC16029-E message might be displayed, and login fails. Command View Advanced Edition 7.0.0 is upgraded to Command View Advanced Edition 7.1.0. Command View Advanced Edition 7.1.0 is installed, and then a Command View Advanced Edition 7.0.0 database is imported. In this case, restart the Device Manager service.
Search window filters If a filter attribute value is changed before its initialization is completed, the value might become invalid or operations from the window might not be able to be performed. In this case, redisplay the filters, or log in again. The Create Volume dialog box The following message appears if the Create Volume dialog box is opened when all the parity groups are reserved: No parity groups for create volumes. Create a parity group.
THP Vols: No. of Paths THP Vols: Filesystem THP Vols: Filesystem Used % Parity Groups: No. of Volumes Pool Configuration: No. of Parity Groups Pool Configuration: Total Capacity Available Parity Groups: No.
If this occurs, sort the volumes by the encrypted column after filtering candidate volumes by the other columns. Warning banner settings When warning banner messages are set by using the hcmdsbanner command, HTML tags might have been ignored.
Automatic refresh of screen Even if information displayed on the screen changes by the task execution, it might not be updated automatically. In this case, refresh the screen manually. Configuration changes of a storage system When a configuration is changed while refreshing a P9500 or XP storage systems, the configuration changes might fail with the KAIC05000-E error message if the operation to refresh the storage system fails. If this behavior occurs, retry the configuration changes.

Unallocating volumes In the Device Manager GUI, volumes that are allocated to a specific WWN cannot be unallocated from a host group. Therefore, if volumes that belong to the same host group are unallocated in an environment (such as a cluster environment), volumes allocated to the WWNs (both the active and standby nodes for a cluster environment) of all hosts that belong to the same host group are also unallocated.
