Unallocating volumes
In the Device Manager GUI, volumes that are allocated to a specific WWN cannot be unallocated
from a host group. Therefore, if volumes that belong to the same host group are unallocated in an
environment (such as a cluster environment), volumes allocated to the WWNs (both the active and
standby nodes for a cluster environment) of all hosts that belong to the same host group are also
unallocated.

Device Manager server hostname
Installing Device Manager fails if the hostname of the Device Manager server is not resolvable. Note
that the hostname is resolvable into its IP address because the Device Manager installer sets the
default hostname. If the hostname is not resolvable, specify an IP address when you install Device
Manager.
Device Manager server loopback address
If the IP address 127.0.0.1 is not assigned as the loopback address in the Device Manager server
machine, running the Device Manager GUI after the installation fails. In Windows, running the GUI
from the Start menu also fails. Check if 127.0.0.1 is assigned as the loopback address. Type the
URL for accessing Command View Advanced Edition into a web browser to run the GUI.
The unallocate volumes dialog box
If the target volume is deleted during the unallocate volume operation, the KAIC43001-E message
might appear.
If this occurs, open the unallocate volumes dialog box and retry deleting the target volume.
Registering and refreshing hosts
The KAIC169001-E message might appear when communications between Host Data Collector and
target multiple hosts fail in registering or refreshing hosts.
If this occurs, close the browser and then log in again five minutes later.
