For more information, see “Determining the coexistence with other storage products” (page 26).
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor management station prerequisites
Verify whether existing applications on the management station support other Oracle database instances to be
installed. If multiple Oracle database instances can coexist, ensure that they are not named PADB, as it conflicts
with the same name (PADB) provided for the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor database.
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor can coexist only with applications that allow different application-specific
Oracle instances to coexist. For more information, see the application-specific documentation.
If the %ORACLE_HOME%, %ORACLE_SID%, and %CATALINA_HOME% environment variables are already
configured on the management station, delete or rename them before the installation begins. You can recreate
these variables or rename them back after the installation procedure completes.
Verify the supported configuration for the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor management station.
For more information, see “Verifying the supported configurations for HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor”
(page 27).
Select a free port (not used by any other application's process and not a commonly reserved port) that HP XP
P9000 Performance Advisor can use for all its communications. Port 80 is the default port that can be used.
For more information, see Assigning ports for HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor on the management station
(page 33).
Get the fully-qualified domain name or IP address of your management station.
For more information, see “Getting the fully qualified domain name or IP address of your management station
(page 29).
Determine the authentication type for the management station.
For more information, see “Determining the authentication type for HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor (page 29).
Allocate at least 1 GB free disk space in your management station's TEMP folder, if you are opting for a complete
installation.
For more information, see Allocating 1 GB free disk space in the TEMP folder (page 32).
Configure the Loopback Adapter or a static IP address for the management station.
For more information, see “Configuring a Loopback Adapter or static IP address (page 32).
Increase the virtual memory (custom page file size) for the <Installation_Drive> on the management station,
where you plan to install HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
For more information, see “Increasing the virtual memory on your management station (page 35).
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agent prerequisites
Verify the supported configuration required for installing the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents.
For more information, see “Verifying the supported configurations for HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host
agents (page 36).
If you plan to install a UNIX host agent, verify whether the supported JRE version is installed and if the JAVA
path is pointing to the installed location on your host.
For more information, see “Verifying the supported configurations for HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host
agents (page 36).
For a Windows host agent, the compatible JRE version is automatically installed.
Configure settings for installing the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor host agents on the Windows and the
