Only users from these groups are provided the administrator and user privileges, and are authorized
to log on to HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor.
NOTE: You cannot add other local groups that reside on your management station to the HP
Storage Admin or the HP Storage Users groups.
After the above-mentioned settings are configured, launch HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor. For
more information, see “Launching HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor (page 66).
Launching HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
IMPORTANT:
Ensure that Adobe Flash Player and Flash Player Plugin, v10.1.85.3 or later are installed on
the system from where you want to access HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor, otherwise the
following error is displayed when you type http://<fully qualified domain name>
or <IP address>/pa in your IE browser window:
HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor requires Adobe Flash Player Version v10.1.85.3.
Download both Adobe Flash Player and Flash Player Plugin, v10.1.85.3 or later from the
following URL: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.
You can also install Adobe Flash Player from the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor installation
disk 2.
Before launching HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor, complete any pre-launch settings that
you must configure. For more information, see “Configuring HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
related settings (page 65).
To launch HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor on your management station:
1. Open a new IE browser window. If you are accessing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
locally on your management station or remotely over a secure connection, enter one of the
following http addresses in the browser address line (the HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
URL is case-sensitive):
Server name followed by /pa for accessing HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor locally
on the management station. For example, http://[server name]/pa
Server name and domain name followed by /pa for accessing HP XP P9000 Performance
Advisor remotely over a secure connection. For example, https://[server
name].[domain name]/pa
If you cannot locate the management station using the above-mentioned methods, enter the
IP address of the management station followed by /pa. For example, http(s)://[IP
address]/pa.
The HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor Login screen appears.
IMPORTANT: These http address formats are valid only if HP XP P9000 Performance Advisor
is using port 80 for all its communications. If port 80 is not being used, you must specify the
port number along with the server name or IP address in the http address format. For example:
http://[server name]:<port_no>/pa or http://[server name].[domain
name]:<port_no>/pa.
